General Statement:
I’ve never really been able to understand people.  The way they interact with each other and things like social norms have always seemed weird and, often, irrational to me.  About a year ago, I found out that this is because I have autistic spectrum disorder.  I think because things like social interactions come naturally to most people, they don’t really think about them.  Since I have to do all these things consciously, it puts me in a position to notice all the weird things people do.  Most of my work is about taking some aspect of people that I’ve noticed and portraying it in a slightly exaggerated way with the intent of drawing people’s attention to it.  I want to make people consider another perspective and think about the things that they do, or see so often without really thinking about them.
